Prestonpans woman Jan Deighton has told of the most frightening experience of her life as she was set upon by a pack of eight dogs.
Mrs Deighton (52) and her husband Bill were walking their pet Yorkshire Terrier, Jellybean, along the coastal path from Prestonpans, towards Morrison’s Haven on Monday last week.
Two women approached with eight dogs, including a Staffordshire cross and two large Irish Wolfhound pups, none of them on leads.
Mrs Deighton told the News: “The dogs suddenly came bounding towards us and then they went totally mad, jumping on top of my dog. I pulled up his lead to get him off the ground and they turned on me, jumping all over me and knocking me over.
“It was the most frightening thing I have ever experienced and I dread to think what would have happened if the dogs had gone into real pack mode and started biting.”
