A Prestonpans pub is to re-open as a cafe and restaurant after the plan was approved by East Lothian’s Licensing Board.
A previous application for a provisional licence for the Johnnie Cope in Hawthorn Road attracted objections.
They included one from the owner of the Dasher pub, who was concerned about the over provision of licensed premises.
Solicitor Alastair Macdonald, acting for Johnnie Cope owner Paul Kane, a former Hibs player, said a new application was now submitted.
“This is not to be a public house but a cafe/bistro.”
