Residents in Prestonpans are being asked for their help in planting more than 400 trees gifted to the community by the Woodland Trust.
A community tree-planting event is being organised by the Friends of Cuthill Park on Saturday from 2pm to 4pm, when volunteers are asked to turn out in force in warm clothing, sturdy boots and a spade, if they have one.
Having created a community garden within the park, the group has now been given a pack of 420 trees - all native broad-leaved species.
The aim is to create a flourishing hedge to border the garden, where the Friends and members from the local Co-op have been building raised beds.
