A kayaker who sank into the sea near Dunbar has relived his terrifying experience and desperate bid to swim ashore.
Malcolm Moffat (29), from Prestonpans, abandoned his vessel just 300 metres from land, but the strong tide prevented him reached safety.
Despite being able to see people on the shore, he had to survive for more than an hour in the freezing waters.
He clung to the kayak in the hope that someone would spot him, but he had to let go of it when he realised the damaged boat was drifting out with the tide.
