Football coach Stevie Adamson could not have known that the teamwork ethic he instilled in his players would ultimately save his life.
As he recovered in hospital this week, dad-of-two Stevie thanked players and officials who went to his aid when he suffered a heart attack during a routine training session in Prestonpans.
Tributes have also been paid to cool-headed staff at nearby Preston Lodge Rugby Club who used their defibrillator to revive the Preston Athletic coach.
Now in his second season with Lowland League club, Stevie (47) was walking off the five-a-side pitch near the Pennypit when he collapsed unconscious on Thursday night.
