Police in East Lothian are appealing for witnesses following the theft of a generator from Prestongrange Industrial Heritage Museum.
The incident happened sometime between 4pm on Wednesday 5th February and 9am on Thursday 6th February, when it was discovered that a trailer had been broken into in the grounds of the museum and a red Honda generator, worth £850, and two gas canisters worth £50 were taken from within.
Inspector Ian Mackay from Police Scotland said: “This enquiry is being progressed as part of Operation RAC and officers are keen to speak to anyone who saw any suspicious activity in and around the mining museum on Wednesday evening and Thursday morning.
“Similarly, anyone with information relevant to this enquiry is also asked to contact police immediately.”
