Plea for lighting upgrade on A1 road

Campaigners are pressing for improvements – such as better lighting at “bad junctions” – on the A1 in East Lothian and the Borders.

Members of the Scottish A1 Action Group, which met in Haddington on Friday, agreed to write to the Scottish Government making the case of upgrading.

Present were local and national politicians as well as representatives from Transport Scotland, BEAR, East Lothian Council, Scottish Borders Council, City of Edinburgh Council, Eyemouth Community Council, the Road Haulage Association and the general public.
