Councillors have rejected controversial plans for a housing development at Old Craighall, a scheme that would have doubled the size of the community.
Members of East Lothian Council’s planning committee turned down WA Traquair and Son’s proposals to build 52 houses on land at Old Craighall Road.
Had they been approved, the plans could have seen a major shake-up of the local educational system, with half of the community’s pupils heading for Campie Primary School and the other half going to Whitecraig Primary School.
