A local businesswoman has thanked Tranent Gala Committee for all the work it does for the community in the best way possible — by designing, creating and donating a sparkling new crown to be worn by 2008 Tranent Gala Queen Lyn Ramsay.
Paula Waugh (34), makes hair accessories and jewellery for special occasions from her home in Tranent.
Since starting up her own business three years ago she has designed a crown for the Dunbar Lifeboat Queen and created tiaras for Ormiston and Port Seton Gala Queens.
She also made a fascinator for Haddington stalwart Jan Wilson, which was worn when the community council chairman met HRH The Queen last year.
A mother to sons Aaron (9) and Callum (13), the former Yellow Pages nominee for 'Inspirational Business Mum of the Year' told the News that she decided to start up her own business, Sparkle Headdresses, after spotting a niche in the market.
