A musician from Ormiston has created an app that can turn baby talk into sweet music.

Sandy Butler’s babiesAloud app allows the sound of a little one’s voice to be captured in a musical context.

Only 30 seconds of baby babble, recorded using the app on iPhone or iPad, is needed to turn a child’s vocals into a music track.

Parents can choose backing tracks in a variety of styles, from gentle lullabies to modern beats.

Sandy grew up in his father’s recording studio and has extensive experience of working with children and young people from running his own music school, working with music charity Fischy Music and leading events in hundreds of nurseries and primary schools around the UK and abroad.

The babiesAloud iPhone and iPad app can be downloaded from the Apple App Store for a cost of £1.99.
