NZ has a familiar feel for Musselburgh man Bill

Waiting for Video...

Musselburgh pensioner Bill McKirdy found himself on familiar territory after making the 11,000-mile journey to New Zealand to visit his big brother.

The long-lost siblings were exploring South Island, when a tour of the Dunedin area took them through the suburbs of Corstorphine, Portobello, and finally, Musselburgh.

Mr McKirdy (74), of Stoneybank Gardens, has now been invited to share his story with pupils at Musselburgh Burgh Primary School, where he and brother Alex were once pupils.

Full story in this week’s Musselburgh News, on sale now.
