Open land opposite Royal Musselburgh Golf Club is the latest to be earmarked for new housing as Prestonpans continues to expand.
Councillors in the town have been notified by Hallam Land Management Ltd of its intention to seek planning consent for residential development and associated infrastructure at Dolphingstone Farm.
The company believes the proposal would help to address a serious shortage of family and affordable housing identified in East Lothian.
A letter to councillors states: “Development of this land would provide an ideal opportunity to provide Prestonpans and East Lothian with additional high quality housing in and accessible and sustainable location that can be developed in the short to medium term.”
