A North Berwick man who was banned from a Musselburgh pub has been allowed to visit the premises again in a bid to test him.

James Thomson (39) was barred from the Anchor Bar after he smashed a glass on the floor and acted in aggressive manner on October 11 last year.

Thomson, 49E Forth Street, had been barred from the pub as part of a bail condition imposed by a sheriff last year after he admitted behaving in a disorderly manner, resisting, obstructing or hindering two police constables and attempting to escape from police custody and damaging a vehicle in the process.

But he was granted access to the premises again following an appearance at Haddington Sheriff Court last Wednesday.
