A Musselburgh man who alarmed a woman by following her along the town’s High Street and into Luca’s ice cream shop will return to court next month for sentencing.
John Fraser affected the woman so much during the incident on September 3 last year she felt “extremely scared” and “sick”.
The woman noticed she was being followed by Fraser and twice tried to stop to allow him to pass her. But as she slowed down, he too stopped.
The woman then attempted to find refuge in the Olympia Café but he continued to follow her in, so closely that staff who saw them enter thought the pair were together.
The 55-year-old woman sat down at a table seeking refuge, but Fraser continued his harassment by sitting at a table opposite her. He then began slamming a menu and a glass down on the table.
Just the month previous to the incident Fraser had terrified staff at the town’s Costa Coffee shop after he kicked the front door open and entered while covering his face with a scarf and hood.
