A drug dealer and one of his customers have appeared in court after they were caught during a transaction.
Assad Afsal, of 140B North High Street, Musselburgh, pleaded guilty to selling Christopher Dickson a quantity of cannabis in a Musselburgh street last year. Afsal (24) initially denied the charge of supplying the class B drug on September 4, 2013, but eventually pleaded guilty at the trial diet. He appeared for sentencing at court last Wednesday where his lawyer Robert Lowe said his client was “terrified” as a consequence of any punishment.
Mr Lowe added that Afsal was “ashamed of his drug use” and was now engaged to be married and on the “cusp of making a change” to his lifestyle.
Co-accused Dickson, of 12 Stoneybank Road, Musselburgh, appeared in the dock alongside Afsal last Wednesday and admitted to possessing a quantity of cannabis at Eskview Terrace, Musselburgh.
