Police in East Lothian have made another arrest as part of the ongoing housebreaking campaign, Operation RAC.
On Thursday, February 20 a 27-year-old man was arrested in connection with the theft from a car in Musselburgh.
As a result of further enquiries, the male was subsequently charged with a break-in at Musselburgh Rugby Club late last year in addition to four thefts from vehicles in the Musselburgh area over the past few months.
He has now been reported to the Procurator Fiscal.
Chief Inspector Colin Brown, Local Area Commander for East Lothian said: “This one arrest has resulted in five acquisitive crimes from Musselburgh being solved and should send a clear message to our communities that we continue to use all resources at our disposal to tackle housebreaking and associated offences in the region.
“All reports of housebreaking are thoroughly investigated and anyone wishing to report a crime of this nature should contact police immediately.
“In addition, the public can also get in touch with us via the 101 number, or by speaking to their local policing team, where they can receive essential information and advice on safeguarding their property.”
