As Mother’s Day is celebrated on Sunday, a special East Lothian mum has been put in the limelight for her charity work after her daughter’s death.
Not only has Laura Young (45) from Gullane been named a Tesco Mum of the Year, she also visited 10 Downing Street, the Prime Minister David Cameron’s London home, in the run-up to International Women’s Day.
One of just 150 women to attend the reception, she was singled out in recognition of her work with the Teapot Trust which she founded four years ago. The trust’s name was inspired by her daughter Verity’s love of tea parties.
