Police say missing Wallyford schoolgirl Nicole Saxby has been found safe and well.

The 13-year-old was traced to Great Junction Street, Edinburgh, around 6.25pm on Monday and has been returned home.

An appeal for information was made after the Musselburgh Grammar School pupil failed to return home at the weekend.

She had not been heard of since being spotted near lines at Wallyford Railway Station around 6.40pm on Sunday.

Nicole previously lived in the East Craigs area of Edinburgh, which led officers to investigate if she had travelled to the capital. The public have been thanked for their assistance.
