A Musselburgh man who was caught in possession of a knife has had his sentence deferred for him to engage with drug agencies.

David Moffat, 23, had the dangerous weapon on him while in the town’s Tesco supermarket last month.

Moffat, 74 Stoneyhill Road, pleaded guilty to the offence when he appeared at Haddington Sheriff Court on 8 July and sentence was deferred for a psychiatric report.
