Up-and-coming performer Lawrence Bissell has landed a role in Scottish Opera’s lavish new production of The Magic Flute.

A pupil at Loretto School, Lawrence, from Inveresk, was chosen for the part of “Second Boy” following demanding auditions earlier this year.

The talented youngster is a member of the Loretto School Choir, the pipe band and regular performer in school plays. He is also a member of the National Youth Choir of Scotland.

Jonathan Hewat, Director of External Affairs at Loretto, said: “This is a wonderful opportunity for Lawrence and we do congratulate him. He is a talented young man-certainly one to watch in the future.”
