Next week (May 12-18) is Local Newspaper Week and this year’s theme is ‘Making a Difference’.
Obviously, we’ll be looking at some of the ways the East Lothian News and Musselburgh News has tried to make a difference in recent times.
But, just as importantly, we want to celebrate others in our community who are also working hard to make a difference.
And that’s where you come in – we’re looking for suggestions of individuals or groups who do just that.
It could be someone at your school, workplace, neighbourhood or a community group that offers that extra special something.
We’re particularly keen to see videos of your nominations in action, they don’t need to be more than around 30 seconds - so send footage, here.
Even if you don’t have video to send, we’d still love to hear about people who are making a difference to you - let us know here.
We’ll publish the best ones - and we’ve teamed up with Frankie & Benny’s to offer a £50 vip voucher for the best one. Deadline for entries is May 18, 2014.
As part of Local Newspaper Week, you can pop along and meet your local reporter:
Tomorrow (Thursday, May 8) Campbell Hutcheson will be in Tranent - at the Paper Shop from 9.30-10.30am and the Co-op (11am-noon)
Julie Douglas will be at Musselburgh Tesco on Thursday, May 15 - watch this space for details of when.
