Winterfield Park in Dunbar, which is being restored to its former glory, has become the venue for regular kite flying demonstrations.

Andrew Beattie from Fife, who is known globally for his kite flying, is showing off some of the amazing kites he has amassed, many of which were created by world famous designer Peter Lynn.

Mr Beattie is also part of the Kuwaiti Al-Farsi kite team which fly the world’s largest kite ‘Little Pearl’ – a giant inflatable kite measuring 1,200 square metres.

His own collection of giant kites includes Manta Rays that dominate the sky, giant fish, tigers, an owl the size of a house, crocodiles, crabs and scorpions. The events have been organised by Dunbar Trades’ Association with support from East Lothian Council.
