Antisocial behaviour is creating serious problems in an area of Haddington, a frustrated local resident claims.
Haddington and District Community Council heard on Tuesday that some unruly tenants in Hardgate are making life a misery for law-abiding people living there.
An angry and upset local, who asked not to be identified, believes that housing legislation is allowing ‘problem’ individuals to be moved into areas populated mainly by families.
He told community councillors of his concerns on alleged alcohol misuse and drug-dealing, particularly the addictions’ capacity to influence the behaviour of local youngsters.
The community council is now considering a public meeting to allow members of the public to air their views on antisocial behaviour in the town.
