Incentive to dine in East Lothian

Sampling great, locally-sourced produce at a favourite restaurant should always be a treat – but now there’s another reason to eat out locally with East Lothian Council’s ‘Eat East Lothian – and Win!’ campaign.

Anyone dining out in East Lothian and spending more than £20 at any of our participating restaurants from now until Sunday, March 17, will receive an entry card to go into a prize draw to win a share of £1600 of East Lothian dining vouchers.

There will be eight winners of £50 vouchers drawn each week, on February 26, March 5, March 12 and March 19.

The vouchers can be spent in any participating restaurants until September 30, 2013.

A list of restaurants taking part in the campaign can be found at www.foodanddrinkeastlothian.com or look out for the logo on display when you are out and about.

Councillor John McMillan, cabinet spokesperson for economic development and tourism, said: “Following on from the success of our Christmas Shop Local campaign, we have a treat for the taste buds with Eat East Lothian and Win. It’s a chance for locals and visitors to eat in their favourite East Lothian restaurant or try somewhere new and be entered into a prize draw to win a share of £1600 worth of vouchers.

“I think this is a great chance for everyone to remind themselves of the range of really great eating places we have right here in East Lothian – and you could end up enjoying two meals for the price of one if you’re a winner. I think this will be a really popular competition and am sure everyone will thoroughly enjoy taking part.”
