Record crowds attended the first open day at Lafarge Tarmac’s Dunbar cement plant for four years.
The good weather helped attract more than 530 local people to visit the site which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.
Among the attractions were organised rides on monster trucks and a simulated blast in the quarry. Extra tours of the plant, including a visit to the 60m-long kiln were laid on due to the unexpectedly high demand.
