A new coastal rowing club established in the Honest Toun is planning its first regatta as part of the Musselburgh Festival.

Members of Eskmuthe Rowing Club and their skiff, called Honesty, have become a regular sight on the water off Fisherrow Harbour.

Under the auspices of the Scottish Coastal Rowing project, the club has already taken part in rowing competitions organised in Port Seton and Foxlake in Dunbar, but is now planning its first ‘home’ event.

The established clubs from Portobello and Port Seton have been invited to take part in the regatta, which will be held on the afternoon of Sunday, July 29 – to coincide with other water-borne events including the raft race and the historic harbour ceremony.

Full story in this week’s Musselburgh News and East Lothian News, on sale now.
