A teenager, who turned up to court without legal representation has pleaded guilty to assaulting a police officer.

Ashleigh O’Donnell (18) told Sheriff Braid she was representing herself when she appeared in the dock at Haddington Sheriff Court last Wednesday.

She lodged pleas of guilty to three charges, including kicking an officer and struggling violently with two others while she was being arrested during an incident on April 30.

Sheriff Braid told O’Donnell she was “facing serious charges” and that she should “go away and seek legal advice”.
