Pupils and staff, past and present, are eagerly anticipating a year of special events to mark a Haddington school’s 50 years.
The Compass School was founded in September 1963 in the town’s Holy Trinity Church hall.
The vision of its founder, Alny Younger, was to create a school that provided a warm and caring environment in which children would be encouraged to develop and grow, not just academically, but as individuals.
This vision has endured and today the school in West Road supports a roll of 125 boys and girls aged three to 12 years.
