Haddington firm’s bus-rail link hits the buffers

A bus service launched in February to improve transport links between the county and Edinburgh is to cease later this month.

Prentice Coaches has decided to withdraw its X1 bus route between Haddington and Wallyford because the low number of regular passengers has failed to justify its continuation.

But a business spokesman has praised the Haddington firm for showing willingness to start a new service and urged bosses to continue considering route options.
