Cockenzie: Third demolition of precipitators at Cockenzie Power Station

Two more steel “precipitator’”structures were knocked down last week at Cockenzie Power Station, where decommissioning work has been going on since last April

When it opened in 1967, Cockenzie was the largest power station in Britain. Its distinctive chimney stacks are not expected to be removed before next winter.
