Gardeners sweep the boards at Caledonian show

East Lothian gardeners were “blooming marvellous” in this year’s Royal Caledonian Horticultural Society’s annual show.

Elaine Brand, Lady Provost of Edinburgh, was on hand to present the prizes. The Secretary’s Trophy went to Alex Watson from Ormiston for the best daffodil blooms in the show.

Stan da Prato of North Berwick in Bloom, who now lives in Tranent, won four awards – Coronation Cup for best cactus, the Kroes Memorial Trophy for best entry in tulips or hyacinths as well as the Lady Provost’s Trophy for the best alpine.
