Aberlady Gala Day took place last weekend.
Lily Chambers was crowned Gala Queen by last year’s Gala Queen Emma-Lily Arbuckle at a ceremony in the playing fields. Lily was accompanied by her Consort Cameron Graham and the Royal Court.
The parade of floats made its way round the village led by Tranent and District Pipe Band. Attractions in the playing fields and school grounds included a tea and beer tents, live music, a barbecue, archery, face painting, toy stall, gladiator duel and pony rides.
Events continued throughout the week such as a family quiz night, evening for senior citizens, children’s discos, family fun run, football and family picnic. The gala finale is Kirkin’ Sunday when the children of the Royal Court make their way for a service at Aberlady Kirk.
