A Musselburgh man who battered two innocent men – leaving one lying on the ground unconscious – has been jailed.

Craig Menzies (26), 11 Windsor Park Drive, launched the unprovoked attack as the two friends made their way home from a function at a Musselburgh golf club.

Menzies slammed Edward Whoriskie (57) against a bus shelter and punched him to the ground, leaving him out cold. He then turned to Samuel Douglas (61) who he also punched to the ground leaving him with a badly bruised face and injuries to his nose and ribs.
