A former Church of Scotland missionary will make an emotional return to India next month with his daughter who was born there.
Rev Mark Wilson, a minister from Longniddry, is planning a private visit to friends and former colleagues in the Church of North India in Darjeeling, Kalimpong and the Eastern Duars.
He will be accompanied by daughter Gillian, who was born in Kalimpong when he and his wife Lesley were working there with the Bodo tribal people.
Their “mission” this time will be to deliver a unique archive of the Church of Scotland’s historical links with the area, extracted by Mark from supplements to Life and Work magazine covering the years 1882-1920.
