Emergency action plan is drawn up for Dunbar

A plan is being put in place to help residents and the business community cope with emergencies which may hit the Dunbar area.

The scheme is being developed by the group Sustaining Dunbar along with East Lothian Council’s emergency planning and risk manager Sandy Baptie.

Susan Guy of Sustaining Dunbar said: “As the current flooding and severe weather problems make only too clear it is essential that communities are prepared to respond to severe weather, flooding, travel disruption, fuel shortages, animal diseases, pandemic flu outbreaks and power cuts.
