Members of the East Lothian branch of the Royal Scots Association accompanied the McCrae Battalion Trust on its annual pilgrimage to France.

Branch chairman Tom Logan, third left, and William Hoy, right, also paid their respects to the members of the 16th Battalion The Royal Scots who lost their lives during the Battle of the Somme.

A service was held in the small village of Contalmaison where a cairn was erected in 2006 to remember the soldiers of the regiment who lost their lives in the battle.
