Rail passengers in East Lothian are being encouraged to get in to the spirit of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games with fun, sport-inspired signage at Musselburgh and Longniddry stations.

To celebrate the largest sporting event Scotland has ever hosted, First ScotRail has renamed the stations Muscleburgh and Longerniddry. ScotRail is an Official Supporter of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games and Team Scotland.

Kirsty Marchant, team manager for Longniddry and Musselburgh stations, said: “Excitement is building for the games and we’re proud to be playing our part in helping the local community feel part of it. Hosting the Games is a once in a generation opportunity so hopefully our new, fun signs add to the experience and memories people have.”

Among the other renamed stations are Cambuslang(jump), Dingwall (Ding!Ding!Wall), Falkirk High(er), Polmont (Polevault) and Springburn (Sprintburn).

The county’s Commonwealth Games hopefuls feature in this week’s East Lothian News, on sale now.
