East Lothian firms losing contracts, claims SNP

Local SNP councillors have attacked East Lothian Council’s decision to award a £2 million housing contract to a Glasgow firm rather than a local company.

The project at Victoria Park in Haddington will see 20 housing units built under a scheme brought forward by the former SNP council.

Councillor Stuart Currie, the SNP group leader, said: “Sadly, we are seeing substantial contracts to build houses going outside of East Lothian for the sake of only a few thousand pounds.”
