A Dunbar couple are raising cash to help children in Goa after hearing of their plight from friends who spent a holiday in the Indian state.
Eddie Carver and his wife Yvonne are supporting the Mango House project which needs vital funds to provide teachers, educational supplies as well as a nutritious meal for around 175 youngsters aged three to 16.
Last year they raised money to take 100 pairs of jelly shoes for the children in Goa.
Mr Carver explained: “Most of the children literally have no footwear – so providing jelly shoes means they can be handed down as the children grow.”
