A car-sharing club in Dunbar has gone electric in a bid to help cut greenhouse gas emissions and improve local air quality.

The SpareWheels Car Club in Dunbar now has its first electric car – with a range of 75 miles, thanks to the Developing Car Clubs in Scotland programme.

A fully automatic Nissan Leaf vehicle is stationed at the town’s Bleachingfield Centre in a convenient location for both residents and business.

Club member Helen Smith said: “I love driving the Nissan Leaf. Being an automatic, it is very easy to drive and is great fun. I will be using it for all my local journeys.”
