A new public car park has opened on Countess Road in Dunbar near the rail station.
The free facility, which has 20 spaces, has been provided on waste ground as part of East Lothian Council’s £300,000 parking improvement budget.
Councillor Michael Veitch said: “The residents of Countess Road are quite rightly aggrieved at their street having long been a default car park for the railway station, while commuters are fed up of having to battle to get a space on surrounding streets because of the ludicrously expensive station car park.”
