East Lothian businesses are being offered the chance to meet and make new council contacts at a free drop-in event in Musselburgh.
East Lothian Council is offering help, no matter what stage your business is at, whether you have an idea that needs to get off the ground or your company is established and looking to expand.
The Meet the Council event will take place at the Brunton (Venue 2) on Monday, March 24 from 4.30pm to 6.30pm.
It is a completely free event, tea and coffee will be provided and there is no need to pre-book. Visitors can drop in at any point during the event.
Councillor John McMillan, Cabinet Member for Economic Development and Tourism, said: “We ran a similar event in Haddington last year and, despite heavy snow on the night, we attracted more than 60 businesses and the feedback was excellent. We are looking to do this annually and, this time, we are taking the event to Musselburgh.
“It’s a great opportunity to come and meet council staff face-to-face, get advice and support and perhaps be introduced to other council departments who can help with whatever business issue you would like addressed. The event builds on our ‘Open for Business’ message and will provide businesses with a more informal way of approaching council officers on a wide range of topics and issues. We will also be welcoming any feedback on how we engage with East Lothian businesses.”
Meet the Council will bring together representatives from Planning, Building Standards, Property Management, Procurement, Business Rates, Transportation, Licensing, Environmental Health, Trading Standards and East Lothian Works as well as Economic Development (Business Gateway and Tourism).
