Residents in the East Linton area are making a bid to buy a historic site in the village and turn into a centre for business and social activities.
They are hoping to purchase the two acre ‘Old Saleground’ which features an octagonal auction mart building which was once used as a centre for trading livestock.
If the venture is successful, the site, which is currently used as a joiner and builder’s yard for general storage, could become a focus for enterprise and business start-ups as well as training, and education.
Artists and crafts people could use the proposed purpose-built business units, offices, studios, workshops and social meeting places.
