Cockenzie school found to be ‘weak’ in key areas

Staff and education officials have been told to improve the curriculum at Cockenzie Primary School and to raise expectations of what all its pupils can achieve.

It follows a recent visit by HM Inspectors, who assessed the school and nursery classes as “weak” in a number of areas, including the curriculum and meeting learning needs.

The only areas not found to have weaknesses, were learners’ experiences in the school and children’s experiences in the nursery, which were deemed to be “satisfactory”.
