Police in Prestonpans are trying to trace youths who wreaked havoc after setting up camp in the town’s Cuthill Park.
Volunteers who have been working to restore the park to its former glory were devastated to discover a trail of destruction following the recent spell of warm weather.
Fires set by campers had been used to burn tents and carpets, while an old tree trunk had been rolled down a hill, smashing into decorative wooden barrels.
A large delivery of bark, ordered by the Friends of Cuthill Park, had also been set alight and destroyed.
