Brass plaques stolen from Dunbar Golf Club

Lothian and Borders Police are appealing for witnesses following a theft at Dunbar golf course.

The incident happened sometime between 3pm on Monday, November 26, and 7.30am on Tuesday, November 27, at the Dunbar Golf Club.

During this time a number of brass plaques located on concrete blocks at the tee-off zones have been removed and stolen.

Anyone who can assist officers with their enquiries is now asked to come forward.

A police spokesman said: “The brass plaques have most likely been stolen to be sold on as scrap metal and we will be engaging with local scrap dealers who may come across these items in the coming days and weeks.

“In the meantime, we are also conducting local enquiries to identify those responsible for these thefts and would urge anyone who remembers seeing anything suspicious in or around the golf course to contact police immediately.”

Those with information can contact Lothian and Borders Police on 0131 311 3131, or the charity Crimestoppers in complete anonymity on 0800 555 111.
