The Boys’ Brigade (BB) has received an endorsement from a number of MSPs including Iain Gray, MSP for East Lothian at the Scottish Parliament.
A motion, lodged by Margaret Mitchell, MSP for Central Scotland, congratulated the BB on its 130th anniversary and acknowledged the “dedication and hard work of the staff and volunteers who give their time and energy to BB companies across the country.”
East Lothian man Bill Stevenson, Director, Scotland, The Boys’ Brigade said: “It is always nice to receive recognition for the work the BB does. I am pleased that politicians from across the political spectrum are united in their praise for The Boys’ Brigade.
“As we go into our 131st year, we continue to offer positive and exciting opportunities for our 20,000 members. We are grateful for the on-going support and encouragement from many local MSPs.”
The UK’s longest-running voluntary structured youth organisation, will be marking its 130th anniversary with a host of events throughout the year including members taking part in the Great Scottish Run, Giant Sleepovers and World Record attempts.
