Police have cordoned off the car park at the Lidl supermarket in Prestonpans after a light goods vehicle carrying propane cylinders went on fire.

Gary O’Neill captured this image of the blaze which broke out at 10.50am this morning (Thursday, November 28).

Fire crews from Musselburgh and Liberton are on the scene cooling down the cylinders. A fire service spokeswoman said the lorry was carrying a boiler used to tar lines on the road and police cordoned off the area because of the potential for an explosion.
