The incident happened just after 11am near Jim Bush Drive when the victim was walking home by Redburn Road.

The 26 year old victim was looking at a tablet computer while walking when he was approached by a man, who suddenly punched the victim to the head. The suspect then attempted to grab the tablet, but the victim held onto it and the suspect made off.

Detective Constable Callum Richardson said: “This was an unprovoked attempted robbery and assault which left the victim with a gash to his head. Police are keen to hear from anybody who was in the area at the time or who recognise the description of the suspect.”
