Three people have been appointed to roles at the Athelstaneford centre that celebrates the birth of Scotland’s national flag, the saltire.

Emily Armatage (custodian), of nearby Kilduff Farm; Michael Turnbull (trustee), from Longniddry; and Kenneth Stewart (treasurer), from Edinburgh, have joined the Scottish Flag Trust.

Chairman David Williamson said: “The Trust is very much looking forward to a successful year in 2014 and to an increase in visitor numbers coming to this historic site.

“It is heartening to be able to welcome such enthusiastic and experienced people to the team.”
